More than $15,000 was raised on a GoFundMe for the Lyndhurst native, who suffered a stroke last month.
The page was launched by Pete Isoldi, who got to know Fellini through his tenure as president of the junior football association.
"Very early into my tenure, Scott and I were going to meet GRHS Coach Kurz at the field after one of his practices," he said. "The thing that to this day I remember about the meeting was the interactions Scott had with the high school players."
Fellini is the father of twins, set to graduate this year from Glen Rock High School
"As we were walking out to the field the players were walking off," Isoldi continued.
"At least a dozen of them came up to him and either gave him a hug or stopped to talk to him.
"The interactions showed me the kids had a positive experience playing for him."
